Element Studios gets a special preview of the Heals Spring/Summer 2017 collection

With Christmas and New Year over, now is a good time to look forward to new interior design trends for days that are longer and warmer. What better way to start this process than a sneak peek at the Heals Spring/Summer collection 2017.

This show has normally been exclusively for the press, however this year Heals extended the invite to Interior Designers, and it was a real treat to be able to see some of the great new products and colours in store for us in the coming months.  Heals chose a fascinating Arts and Crafts building, Mary Ward House in the throbbing creative heart of Bloomsbury to showcase their SS17 Collection.

What we love most about using Heals is that the craftsmanship displayed in their products is outstanding.  We also like the fact that they have a tradition of supporting British designers and creators, and are always slightly ahead of the curve when it comes to spotting a new trend.

So, what stood out for us?

from the pop of a bright lime to the deep mossy, to the grey-toned green.  The range of hues shown beautifully together around this dining table.  Very evocative of new growth and spring, they look great with the subtle blues and turquoises of the ceramic collection bringing a real feel of a Greek summer !

textiles used to introduce pops of artistic colour. This plush, deep mossy green low stool brought to life with wildly coloured cushions. We love the addition of vibrant textiles and the daring and carefree use of colour combinations you might not normally think to use.

continuing on a trend from last year, we were pleased to see warm greys still featuring.  We noticed the introduction of the most subtle of toned down pinks.  Spot the vibrant cushion again !

at Element Studios we’re always on the lookout for lighting; we know how important it is to get it right and we spend a lot of time sourcing for the jobs we work on.  Heals SS17 collection had some gems on display from elegant task lighting to bold pendant fittings.  Notice the cross over into the lighting department of the vibrant artistic textile shade, good for bringing focus to a room, as well as the use of that subtle pink.

    CRAFT OBJECTS.........

always showcasing the best in British craft, at the Heals SS17 collection we were particularly drawn to these bold ceramics by Jode Pankhurst.  We love the use of the pinks and baby blues alongside the striking black and cream. Great pieces to sit alongside bold pops of colour!

Finally, how good it was to see that Heals have teamed up with iconic Italian design house, Moroso, and have a brand new display in the Tottenham Court Road store.   We have our eye on these fabulous chairs, with their spot on combination of bold colour and references to crafting techniques of old.  Timeless pieces that will last a lifetime.

With this feast of wonderful design offerings to come, all we can say is:
